🏖️ Jersey Shore Throwback: This week in 1917, Thomas Alva Edison began conducting submarine defense experiments from Sandy Hook. During this time he invented a number of devices, including an airplane direction finder, a depth charge that took its own “soundings,” and a waterproof microphone underwater listening system that allowed ships to hear the engine of a submarine more than a mile away.

TOP STORY: Monmouth County Fair Tradition Continues
Summer in Monmouth County wouldn't be complete without a trip to the fair. From live music and carnival rides to 4-H animals, favorite fair foods, and family traditions, the 51st Annual Monmouth County Fair returns to the East Freehold Showgrounds Wednesday, July 22 through Sunday, July 26, with five days of entertainment, exhibits, attractions, and activities for all ages.
