🏖️ Monmouth History: Before it was the Basie, it was the Carlton. Red Bank’s historic theater opened in 1926 as Reade’s Carlton. An anonymous donation helped a local arts organization purchase it for $96,665 in 1973, and it was renamed in honor of Count Basie in 1984.
