For decades, locals have watched Jersey Mike's grow from a Jersey Shore sandwich shop into a national brand. Now, the company is taking two major steps at once: preparing to become a publicly traded company while moving its headquarters to Bell Works at Fort Monmouth in Tinton Falls.

Jersey Mike's announced the terms of its initial public offering and plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "JMKE." According to the company's filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the offering includes approximately 43.5 million shares priced between $21 and $25 each, which could value the company at nearly $8 billion. The shares had not yet been priced or begun trading as of Tuesday. The offering includes both newly issued shares and shares being sold by existing investors, including Blackstone, which acquired a majority stake in Jersey Mike's in 2025.

Long before the IPO filing, Jersey Mike's began as Mike's Subs in Point Pleasant. Peter Cancro purchased the business in 1975 at age 17 and expanded it into a restaurant chain with more than 3,300 locations in the United States and Canada. The SEC filing also outlines continued plans for domestic and international growth.

The company's next chapter will remain rooted in Monmouth County. Earlier this year, Jersey Mike's signed a lease for approximately 68,750 square feet at Bell Works Fort Monmouth, relocating its headquarters to 1 Commvault Way in Tinton Falls. According to NJBIZ, the agreement ranked among New Jersey's largest office lease transactions during the first quarter of 2026. Inspired by Somerset Development, owner of Bell Works, also announced plans for a Jersey Mike's restaurant at the campus.

Bell Works Fort Monmouth is now approximately 88% leased, according to Inspired by Somerset Development. Announcing the lease, CEO Ralph Zucker said Jersey Mike's arrival "validates the Bell Works vision" and called the company "a homegrown brand." The headquarters relocation adds another major employer to the ongoing redevelopment of the former Fort Monmouth property.

Jersey Mike's has not announced a timeline for completing the headquarters relocation or how many employees will work at the new location. The company is expected to complete its IPO later this month, subject to market conditions and customary regulatory approvals.
