details on the horrors of war. Three years later, the world would witness the onset of the longest and bloodiest war ever.

365> Belford: County commissioners passed a resolution authorizing a contract with NY Waterway for the operation of ferry services to and from the Ferry Terminal starting Sept. 8. The contract was terminated in 2022, and Seastreak subsequently took over. (More)
365> Howell: The school district is banning metal water bottles from classrooms, saying the bottles are heavy and can cause serious injuries if used in a fight. Students will be required to turn them in. Parents have started a petition opposing the decision, which has garnered more than 1,000 signatures. (More)
365> New Jersey: A person in Middlesex County has tested positive for the mosquito-borne Zika virus. Health officials have not yet said which town the patient who tested positive was in, or where they acquired the virus. (More)
365> Freehold: The Shore Conference Football Media Day officially kicked off the 2026 high school football season. Players and coaches from 41 teams made an appearance at Dick’s House of Sport at Freehold Raceway Mall to talk about their hopes for this season, which officially kicks off with Thursday games on Aug. 27. 365> Tinton Falls: RWJBarnabas' Specialty and Cancer Care Center is scheduled to open in February. It will be part of Monmouth Medical Center, which is in the process of leaving its longtime home in Long Branch and relocating to Tinton Falls. (More)
365> Red Bank: Red Bank Regional drama alum and Count Basie Award nominee Dylan Pitanza will appear in a new Netflix movie, Don’t Say Good Luck, filmed partly in New Jersey. (More)
