🏖️ Monmouth History: On September 1, 1874, the U.S. Army officially began ordnance testing operations at the Sandy Hook Proving Ground. For decades, it served as the primary testing facility for military weaponry, armor plates, and heavy artillery before operations moved to Aberdeen, Maryland.
