🏖️ Monmouth History: In July 1916, a shark swam into Matawan Creek, 16 miles inland, and attacked three people, killing 11-year-old Lester Stillwell and Stanley Fisher, who entered the water to rescue him. The Matawan attack became part of the real-life series of events later associated with the story behind Jaws.
