🏖️ Jersey Shore Throwback: On this day in 1904, lyricist Dorothy Fields was born in Allenhurst. She wrote more than 400 songs for Broadway and Hollywood and made history as the first woman to win an Academy Award for Best Song. Fred Astaire was the first to sing The Way You Look Tonight in the 1936 musical comedy film Swing Time.

WEATHER WARNING: Extreme Heat and Poor Air Quality
An extreme heat warning is in effect for the Mid-Atlantic region that will bring high heat to New Jersey, with dangerously hot and humid temperatures spiking today. The county will see highs in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees. (More) Meanwhile, Canadian Wildfire Smoke will bring hazy skies and poor air quality today, with a campfire-like smell in the air. Hotel Albatross has been named the No. 1 Continental U.S. Inn in Travel + Leisure's 2026 World's Best Awards, earning the top ranking in the magazine's annual reader-voted list of the nation's best inns.
